Garrett McLeish One thing I liked about this course is I did not feel intimidated by the course materials or the instructors (though they have plenty of experience & knowledge). They started from the basics and explained everything very well and at a level that even the general population and one with no knowledge of understanding could understand. They encouraged us to ask questions (even the silliest). This course doesn’t just provide 40 hours of in class time information on Rad Safety, but it also provides us with ample material and examples to take home with. This will be a nice resource. Thus, I would highly recommend this course to others. On top of what I mentioned above, I enjoyed the RSA stuff very much. They were all a pleasant and jovial bunch to get to know. Amber Allardice For someone who is using a radiation source only for security screening the radiation safety officer class proved to be a melting pot of various professions and users for radiation. The course content was abundant and each instructor did his or her best to relate the content to each profession. Having been working alongside the old RSO and now having the class under my belt, I feel that I can go back to my organization with new eyes to make sure that we as an organization are doing everything we can to comply with the NRS standards. Being a first time RSO I would recommend this Academy to anyone needing any type of radiation training.
