Radiation Safety Survey Services
The Radiation Safety Academy is ready to assist licensees in meeting all regulatory requirements for conducting
a sound, compliant radiation safety program. Our staff of certified health physicists (CHPs) and health physicists
are available to develop and implement survey programs to assure radiation and contamination is controlled and
workers have a safe environment in which to conduct business.
Our services include, but are not limited to:
- Developing a radiation safety program and required forms and documents,
- Conducting radiation safety surveys of areas in which radioactive materials and radiation sources are used
and stored, including waste storage areas, and adjacent corridors,
- Re-surveys of selected areas to ensure correction of problems found,
- Deployment, collection, and preparation for analysis of environmental and effluent samples and dosimeters,
- Collection, preparation, and analysis of swipe samples taken to check for removable radioactive
contamination,
- Performance of checks on security of radioactive materials,
- Conducting inventories of your radioactive sources,
- Monitoring and decontamination of personnel and areas (during and after normal work hours),
- Performance of final status surveys for decommissioning,
- Conduct inspections of x-ray producing machines,
- Clerical support.
