Professional Experience

1991-Pres. General Manager and Manager Radiation Safety Services Department, RSO, Inc. Providing consulting and services to government and industry for their use of radioactive materials and radiation. Management of the technical and administrative aspects of the use and control of radiation and radioactive materials. As GM maintained profitability of company during changes in the industry, developed teaming arrangements with compatible companies to maintain competitiveness. As company resource provided direct health physics consultation and service to RSO, Inc. customers (both NRC and Agreement State licensees) that used H-3, C-14, S-35, P-32 and I-125 in biomedical research. Also performed as the back-up Project Supervisor for Radiation Safety Surveys and Survey Meter Calibrations for work at NIH. Performed surveys of high energy machines, prepared radioactive materials license applications and supervised the decommissioning of radioactive material licensees. Performed on-site audits of radiation programs under the specific license of broad scope at the National Cancer Institute-Frederick Cancer Research and Development Center, Ft. Detrick, Maryland.
1987-1991 Manager, Radiation Safety Services, RSO, Inc. Manager of service department which performs radiation safety surveys, portable survey meter calibrations, survey meter repairs, radioactive analysis of health physics operational samples, audits for clients working with radioactive material such as government and private biomedical research institutions and various other industries. Managed staff of 5 health physicists and technicians during this time performing services for over 250 customers. Supervised projects including several successful major facility decontamination and decommissioning efforts and high activity sealed source disposals. Experience with providing D&D health physics support services to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District in materials and equipment
1986-1987 Senior Health Physicist, RSO, Inc. Project Manager for NIH Radiation Safety Survey Contract. Full responsibility for 3 health physics technicians performing radiation safety surveys and field calibration of survey meters and off-site laboratory analysis of wipe test samples. Performed radiation safety surveys and audits for clients working with radioactive material such as government and private biomedical research institutions and various other industries.
