Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Refresher

Free for former 5-day RSO students

This course is free for former 5-day RSO students of CSI or the Radiation Safety Academy. It is intended for RSO’s, Assistant RSO’s, HPs, and radiation safety staff who have previously completed a 5-day RSO course (or equivalent experience) and could use an update on current regulations and compliance issues. Students will be able to focus on their specific needs or areas of interest by choosing which days and sessions of our five-day RSO course they wish to attend. We will emphasize practical answers for compliance issues, licensing, amendments, audits, dosimetry, instruments, training, wastes, shipping and receiving, emergency response, ALARA programs, and troubleshooting RSO issues.

Participants in this course will receive our Radiation Safety Officer Manual that includes relevant radiation safety federal regulations and regulatory guides. The primary instructors are Ray Johnson, CHP; Dr. Alan Fellman, CHP; Sean Austin, CHP; Kelly Austin, MS, CHP and Mike Jedlicka, HP. Credits are approved by ABHP and ABIH.

Course Credits

AAHP - 32 CE Credits may be earned based on individual participation (based on 3-days)

ABIH - 2.0-2.5 CM Points may be earned based on individual participation (based on 3-days)
