The Radiation Safety Academy can help you manage your Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) activities.  The RSC oversees all uses of byproduct material and radiation sources permitted by your license and permits. Membership of the committee must include an authorized user for each type of use permitted by the license, the Radiation Safety Officer, and a representative of management who is neither an authorized user nor the Radiation Safety Officer. The committee may include other members the licensee considers appropriate.   Your RSC should ensure that adequate mechanisms for oversight are in place to determine that the radiation protection program, including training of staff, is effectively implemented by the appropriate individuals.

Our staff of certified health physicists (CHPs) have years of experience working at licensed facilities and are available to provide guidance to your committee.  We can help assure that the committee is meeting on a regular basis, help organize and manage meetings, provide technical advice, and prepare radiation safety program reports and documents.
